This statement sets out the steps that Westwood Homecare Northwest Ltd has taken and is continuing to take to ensure that modern slavery or human trafficking is not taking place within our business or supply chain. Modern slavery encompasses slavery, servitude, human trafficking and forced labour. Westwood Homecare Northwest Ltd has a zero-tolerance approach to any form of modern slavery and human trafficking. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity and transparency in all business dealings and to putting effective systems and controls in place to safeguard against any form of modern slavery taking place within the business or our supply chains. Our Commitment Westwood Homecare provides regulated homecare services to vulnerable adults across Greater Manchester. We support individuals with daily living, complex care needs, and community-based support. Our workforce comprises approximately 200 employees and care workers operating across three branches in Manchester, Stockport, and Bolton. We work in partnership with several commissioning bodies, including Manchester City Council, Stockport Council, and Bolton Council, alongside NHS partners and private clients, to ensure safe, dignified, and high-quality care delivery. Westwood Homecare Northwest Ltd implements its business strategy in an ethically, socially and environmentally responsible manner. We fully acknowledge our responsibility to respect human rights as set out in the International Bill of Human Rights. The IBHR informs all of our policies related to the rights and freedoms of every individual who works for us, either as a direct employee, agency worker or indirectly through our supply chain. We are also committed to implementing the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights throughout our operations. Respect for the dignity of the individual – and the importance of each individual’s human rights – form the basis of the behaviours we expect in every workplace nationally. We will not accept any form of discrimination, harassment or bullying and we require all of our managers to implement policies designed to increase equality of opportunity and inclusion for all employees including agency workers. We have also developed and implemented policies and processes which are intended to extend these commitments through our supply chain. Policies We have several internal policies to ensure that we are conducting business ethically and transparently. These include: Human Rights policy and our Ethics Policy , where we confirm that we will not tolerate or condone the abuse of human rights within any part of our business or supply chains and will take seriously any allegations that human rights are not properly respected Whistleblowing Policy , aimed principally at our employees but also available to others working in our supply chains which encourages staff to report any wrongdoing which extends to human rights violations like Modern Slavery. All reports will be fully investigated and appropriate remedial actions are taken and we will work closely with social care and health providers ensuring that our policies and procedures dovetail with local procedures and best practice A robust recruitment policy , including conducting eligibility to work in the UK checks for all employees to safeguard against illegal working and reduce the risk of exploitation. Employee Code of Conduct consistent with any professional codes of conduct Direct Communication The Company encourages members of the public or people not employed by us to write, in confidence, to raise any concern, issue or suspicion of modern slavery in any part of our business. Suppliers Westwood Homecare’s supply-chain risk is generally low, as our core service is delivered directly by our employed workforce. However, we recognise that certain supplier categories, such as recruitment partners, training providers, and PPE/uniform suppliers, require careful oversight to ensure ethical and lawful practices. We conduct due diligence on all suppliers before allowing them to become a preferred supplier. We include an online search to ensure that particular organisations have never been convicted of offences relating to modern slavery and we include our modern slavery policy as part of our contract with all suppliers. Suppliers are required to confirm that no part of their business operations contradicts this policy. As part of our contract with suppliers, they confirm to us that: They have taken steps to eradicate modern slavery within their business They hold their suppliers to account over modern slavery For UK based suppliers, they pay their employees at least the national minimum wage/national living wage (as appropriate) and to ensure that within their supply chains, where UK based suppliers have overseas supply chains, that their employees' pay is consistent with their national minimum wage requirements, working conditions are safe and fair, there is no child labour and working hours are not excessive We may terminate the contract at any time should any instances of modern slavery come to light Risk Assessments Our supply chains include procurement of staff, consumables, facilities maintenance, utilities and waste management. We have conducted a risk assessment and will ensure that we will take further steps to ensure that we support the eradication of modern slavery, that staff understand how to recognise modern slavery and the appropriate safeguarding reporting processes are followed should there be concerns within our supply chains, with customers or suppliers Performance Indicators We will know the effectiveness of the steps that we are taking to ensure that slavery is not taking place within our business or supply chain if: No reports are received from employees, the public, or law enforcement agencies or local safeguarding teams to indicate that modern slavery practices have been identified Safeguards We aim to encourage openness and will support anyone who raises genuine concerns in good faith under this policy, even if they turn out to be mistaken. We are committed to ensuring that no one suffers any detrimental treatment as a result of reporting in good faith their suspicion that modern slavery of whatever form is or may be taking place in any part of our business. Detrimental treatment includes dismissal, disciplinary action, threats or other unfavourable treatment connected with raising a concern. Westwood Homecare Northwest Ltd will accept and take seriously concerns communicated anonymously. However, retention of anonymity does render investigations and makes validation more difficult and can make the process less effective. Individuals are therefore encouraged to put their names to allegations. Any claims or allegations made which are found to be malicious or vexatious will result in disciplinary action being taken against the individual. Responsibility for this Statement The ultimate responsibility for the prevention of modern slavery rests with the HR Manager for ensuring that this policy and its implementation complies with our legal and ethical obligations. Managers at all levels are responsible for ensuring that those reporting to them understand and comply with this policy and are given adequate and regular training on it and the issue of modern slavery. Assessment of effectiveness in preventing Modern Slavery We understand that modern slavery risk is not static, and will continue our approach to mitigating this risk. We will assess the risk via our internal auditing processes. This statement is made according to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes the modern slavery and human trafficking statement of Westwood Homecare Northwest Ltd for the financial year ending 28 February 2026. - Net Zero 2050 Policy | Westwood Homecare
We believe that caring for people also means caring for the world around us. Good health doesn’t stop at the doorstep; it begins with the environment we live in. HOGAR Contact SOBRE NOSOTROS Conocer al equipo Academia de formación NUESTRA VISIÓN SUCURSALES CONTACTO Blog New Page VACANTES About About New Page New Page New Page SERVICES About New Page About New Page New Page About SERVICES New Page New Page BOLTON BRANCH (Item) BOLTON BRANCH (Item) BOLTON BRANCH (Item) About New Page New Page BOLTON BRANCH (Item) BOLTON BRANCH (Item) BOLTON BRANCH (Item) SERVICES About New Page Groups PATROCINIO EN EL EXTRANJERO General General Search Results Event List Net Zero 2050 Policy At Westwood Homecare, we believe that caring for people also means caring for the world around us. Good health doesn’t stop at the doorstep; it begins with the environment we live in. We recognise that the health of our communities is linked to the health of our planet. By reducing emissions and promoting a greener way of working, we not only protect the planet but also help create cleaner air, healthier communities, and better wellbeing for the people we care for. As a domiciliary care provider, our services depend on carers travelling between service users’ homes, and we know this creates emissions. We are committed to addressing this challenge in a transparent and responsible way. Our Commitment Westwood Homecare (NW) Ltd is committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. This pledge is aligned with: The Uk Goverment's Net Zero Strategy. The Paris Climate Agreement target to limit global warming to 1.5°C. Susatinability priorities within the NHS Green Plan. We will reduce emissions wherever possible, and only use offsetting for the small proportion of residual emissions that cannot be eliminated. Understanding Our Impact We have identified our main sources of carbon emissions as: Carer travel between service users' homes (our largest footprint). Office operations (heating, lighting, electricity, IT). Procurement of goods and services (uniforms, PPE, office supplies). Key Focus Areas & Actions Carer Travel & Transport Supporting Low-Emission Choices: While most of our carers use their own vehicles, we will encourage and support the gradual adoption of hybrid and electric vehicles where possible. Our ambition is for at least 30% of carer mileage to be in low-emission vehicles by 2035, increasing steadily towards 2050, subject to affordability and national infrastructure. Carer Travel & Transport Route Optimisation & Localised Runs: Using our electronic mapping and rota scheduling systems / software, we will continue to organise calls in a way that reduces unnecessary mileage and concentrates care runs within smaller localised areas. This will allow carers to be able to walk between some calls, reduce stress caused by travel, and support more sustainable care delivery. Carer Travel & Transport Accessible Travel Options: We will encourage the use of public transport where practical, and allow more realistic time between calls to support this. We have signed up to the UK Government Cycle to Work Scheme, making it easier for staff to access bicycles and electric cycles as an alternative to car travel. Carer Travel & Transport Green Travel Culture We will promote fuel-efficient driving techniques, encourage localised call scheduling to minimise long-distance travel, and explore partnerships that make low-emission travel more accessible (such as car clubs, shared charging points, or green vehicle schemes). Energy & Offices Move all branches to 100% renewable electricity by 2030. Reduce office energy use by 20% by 2030 through efficiency measures (LED lighting, smart heating, insulation). Reduce paper use and reliance on travel through digital care systems, online software and remote meetings. Procurement & Supply Chain Engage suppliers who demonstrate sustainable practices. Prioritise uniforms, cleaning products, and consumables with lower environmental impact. Incorporate sustainability criteria into all major procurement decisions. People & Culture Train staff on sustainability practices, including fuel-efficient driving, energy savings, and waste reduction. Encourage innovation by carers and office teams in identifying new ways to cut emissions. Recognise sustainability contributions in staff development and awards. Offsetting Residual Emissions Where emissions cannot yet be eliminated, invest in verified carbon offset projects such as UK tree planting, renewable energy schemes, or community rewilding projects. Milestones & Targets By 2027 Publish our first full carbon emissions baseline and Net Zero roadmap, including carer travel, offices, and procurement. By 2030 Achieve at least a 30% reduction in total operational emissions compared to our baseline year, focusing on travel efficiency (smarter scheduling, local call scheduling, fuel-efficient driving) and office energy savings. By 2035 Ensure all offices run on 100% renewable electricity and reduce office-related emissions by 50%. By 2040 Work towards enabling and incentivising staff to transition to low-emission and electric vehicles, with an ambition for at least 50% of carer mileage to be in low-emission vehicles, subject to national infrastructure and affordability. By 2050 Achieve full Net Zero across all operations, with residual emissions offset through high-quality, verified projects. Governance & Transparency Leadership Oversight Responsibility for implementing this policy rests with our Senior Management Team, with updates provided to the Board on progress. Annual Review We will review our Net Zero plan each year to ensure it remains realistic, aligned with sector developments, and responsive to new technologies. Public Reporting A short annual update will be published on our website, summarising the actions we have taken and the progress we are making towards our milestones. Continuous Reporting We will refine our targets at least every three years, to reflect improvements in green technology, government policy, and best practice in the homecare sector. Our Social Value Promise ''Reducing our carbon footprint is not just about compliance, it is about protecting health and wellbeing. A cleaner environment means cleaner air, healthier communities, and a better future for the families who trust us with their care. It also ensures Westwood Homecare remains resilient and responsible for the decades ahead. At Westwood Homecare, care is at the heart of everything we do, for our clients, our staff, and our planet. Our Net Zero 2050 policy is our promise to deliver compassionate care in a way that is sustainable, responsible, and future-focused.”

The services provided by Westwood Homecare have been nothing short of life-changing. The team is incredibly compassionate, patient, and understanding. They take the time to truly understand each child’s unique needs, tailoring their approach to provide the best possible care and support. My child has been more settled and engaging since we started using these services. With the carers, I feel my child is safe, valued, and enjoys his time out. What sets Westwood apart is the unwavering commitment to empowering both children and their families. They’ve given us the help and encouragement we needed to help our child thrive. I cannot recommend their services enough for any family navigating the challenges of raising a child with special needs. They truly make a difference!” Social Worker Testimonial I am a Children with Disability Social Worker. I use Westwood Homecare to support a couple of young people on my case load who have complex needs. Westwood Homecare have been integral in ensuring children have their needs met, risks reduced at home and importantly support parents in their caring role. Westwood works in partnership with families to accommodate needs and make changes when needed. Approachable and competitively priced service. Parent Testimonial Everything is going really well for me, thanks to the carers, Amy, and Raymond, who truly listen to my perspective and make an effort to understand our needs. My children, face challenges with communication and use different methods at school and home. One communicates using symbols and photos on a blackboard, while the other relies on a symbol book. At home, however, they both use gestures, actions, and choices to express themselves, which the carers have adapted to seamlessly. Both of my children have unique personalities and preferences—one is more active, and the carer keeps him engaged and moving, while the other enjoys quieter activities, which the carers accommodate. In the past, other carers struggled to understand my children’s needs and communication styles, often leading to frustration. Westwood carers, however, are patient and genuinely work to understand my children’s feelings. Beyond the carers, Amy and Raymond have been a tremendous help, speaking with our social worker and finding additional ways to support us. Whenever I need to step out, I feel completely reassured knowing my children are safe, happy, and well cared for at home. Family Member Testimonial Fantastic team who supported us through an extremely difficult time, professional, respectful and extremely efficient. Would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.
