Westwood’s Exciting New Launch In Liverpool

People Prefer to Recover

We are so excited and pleased to announce that Westwood is due to launch a Homecare branch in Liverpool soon. We already have branches in Stockport, Bolton and Manchester, which have proven to be popular and successful. We are thrilled to announce now that we are expanding and opening our Liverpool branch.

Our Registered Manager has previous history of running a Homecare Service in the Liverpool Area so we are expecting this to be a great success too and we know that there is a demand for this type of care in the area.

How will the branch operate?

We will be working alongside the local Authorities and Social Services and will be providing care for private clients in Knowsley, Liverpool and the surrounding areas. We will be providing Domiciliary Homecare in this area.

Why is Liverpool in such need of our services?

The CQC has recently published a report, stating how local services work together in order to provide the care needed. You can read that review here

Hospitals, GP practises, care homes, community healthcare services and homecare agencies come together to provide essential care for those who need it. However, were people really getting the care they required?

The CQC report showed that care users were not able to have a say in their care plan, the experiences of the users were inconsistent- as were the times and places in which care took place. It appeared that the relationship between the health and social care workers were improving, but it wasn’t enough. Progress was being made with technology and shared records, but as the CQC report states;

Efforts had also been made to digitise domiciliary care, which although a positive step, had a negative impact for community health and social care teams who did not have compatible mobile technology.”

The CQC PDF report reveals awful figures. In Liverpool, only 46% of nursing care homes were rated ‘Good’. All others were below this standard. Residential homes, on the other hand, showed that 86% had received the rating ‘Good’, and 2% were ’Outstanding’. Domiciliary homecare agencies received 78% ‘Good’ ratings and 3% ‘Outstanding’. Whilst many community care services were unrated, 67% had received a ‘Good’ rating.

The request for ACS (Adult Social Care) support in Liverpool has significantly risen. Another significant increase was for the overall ASC satisfaction and access to information about ASC support for ASC users.

What were significantly worse were the A&E trips for those aged over 65. The trips to A&E for those in care homes, aged over 65, tended to fluctuate. Emergency admissions also rose significantly.

What does this data tell us?

It shows us that Liverpool residents mainly aged 65 and over, are demanding ASC care and want to take better charge of their care plan. It is no surprise that the ratings for nursing homes aren’t great. However, domiciliary homecare agencies are a great alternative to this.

From what we can see though, Liverpool is lacking a company like ours. Our company can provide you with exactly the care you are after. Our values are clear and concise; we believe in trust and respect between our team and out clients, we are caring and compassionate and we deliver and achieve.
