Job Description: Autism and Learning Difficulty Support Worker
Supporting children/young adults/adults, with a range of daily living activities and personal care, including Supporting children with morning and evening routines.
Supporting children/young adults/adults who can display challenging behaviour by using recognised de-escalation techniques.
Supporting children/young adults/adults within the home and supporting them to access external activities.
To work collaboratively and promote strong communication with both children, their families, and the staff team to ensure the best outcomes for the child.
Work in a child-centred way and to ensure the safety of the child/young adults/adults.
To follow agreed ways of working and strategies to manage behaviour.
Document daily activities clearly and concisely.
To always safeguard the child/young adults/adults from harm.
Specific objectives:
Safeguarding children
MAPA/ TEAM TEACH training
Care certificate or experience of working in the sector
Experience of working with children
Experience of working with children or young adults with learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities, challenging behaviour
An awareness of epilepsy
Please note the following:
Wages are paid weekly, wages will be calculated by visits attended.
