Mohammed Sharif
CEO, Founder & Non-Executive Board Member
My Story
Mohammed’s background was originally in retail before moving into property development and investment, where he successfully owned and managed several businesses. Throughout his career, he developed a strong understanding of people, customer service and community, skills that would later become invaluable when he entered the care sector.
After witnessing first-hand how vital good care can be for families, Mohammed developed a genuine interest in homecare. Friends and family who had required domiciliary care inspired him to get involved in an industry that he quickly realised was both meaningful and rewarding.
Although homecare was a completely new field for him,
Mohammed approached it with the same determination and vision that had defined his previous ventures. He saw the opportunity to build a care organisation that combined professionalism, compassion and community values, something he felt was missing in the sector.
From its beginnings in Manchester, Mohammed led Westwood Homecare through a period of steady and thoughtful growth, expanding into Bolton and Stockport. This expansion wasn’t just about opening new offices, it was about creating a strong, connected network of care across Greater Manchester and the North West, ensuring more people could benefit from high-quality support in their own homes.
Mohammed’s leadership is guided by a simple principle: care should always come from the heart, but be delivered with professionalism and respect. He continues to champion investment in training, innovation and staff wellbeing, believing that supporting his team is the foundation of exceptional care.
Today, his focus remains on developing Westwood’s services, improving quality, and strengthening ties with the local community. His long-term vision is for Westwood to set the standard for excellence in homecare, a company known not only for what it does, but for how it makes people feel.
“Homecare is about people. I’m passionate about supporting our community and helping others live with dignity, comfort and respect.”
